Where to go
Immigrant employment councils such as TRIEC (Toronto), ERIEC (Edmonton), CRIEC (Calgary) and ISANS (Nova Scotia), and college bridging programs.
What to bring
  • Your résumé
  • A summary of your experience
  • Your credential assessment if you have one
What to do, step by step
  1. Ask your settlement agency about mentorship in your field.
  2. Look for a bridging program for your profession — it helps toward licensing.
  3. Join Canada Connects to be matched with a longtime resident.
  4. Ask about the Federal Internship for Newcomers (FIN).

Note: programs vary by city and profession; some have language or status requirements.
